Snow what? We don’t care about the weather!

We are officially declaring the 2018 golf season underway.

We know there’s a good possibility there’s snow on the ground, depending on where you live in PA, but the pros are teeing it up in Hawaii.

So forget about grabbing a shovel and pick up your putter instead. A little practice makes perfect. And, before you know it, you’ll be back out on the course to start the 2018 season right here in the Keystone State.

And what a year it is going to be. Renovations are taking place at courses all around the state, and we’re also attracting some quality tournaments to our area.

First on the list, the LPGA’s Symetra Tour is coming to Raven’s Claw. The event, one of approximately 22 official qualifying tournaments for players aspiring to compete on the LPGA Tour, will be held on May 24, 25 and 26. As a special added attraction, Montgomery County’s own Emily Gimpel, above, is expected to play in the tournament.

What snow?

What’s your favorite Masters tradition?

It’s Masters Week! We love every minute of it, and we know the action out on the course is the main course, but let’s talk appetizers right now. What’s your favorite pre-tournament tradition? We absolutely love the addition of the Drive, Chip and Putt championship. And of course, there’s the Par 3 Tournament (that’s Jack Nicklaus and his son at the ’06 Par 3 tourney) and the practice rounds and everything in between leading up to the ceremonial tee shots, with Gary Player already talking smack to Jack about how he’s probably going to out drive him!
